SAM Coaching is tailored specifically for the rodeo athlete, offering essential strategies to enhance focus, resilience, and performance. 
The photo to the right is me at 17 with my high school barrel horse, Sam, at the Wyoming State Fair in Douglas in the summer of 1987. By the time I retired him, Sam had carried me to three National High School Finals Rodeos and the College National Finals my freshman year. The summer before this photo, he helped me with both the barrel racing and pole bending at the first Nevada International Invitational Rodeo (now referred to as Silver State) in 1986, securing the girls all-around. 
SAM Coaching is named in his honor. When I rode Sam, I felt confident, focused, and capable of anything. Through my mindset coaching certification, I realized every athlete has a "Sam" - a place of confidence, trust, and peak performance. My work is about helping rodeo athletes learn the mental skills to find that place on purpose, in and out of the arena.

A simple first step to see if mindset coaching is a fit
Every athlete is introduced to the full set of SAM HABITS so they understand the complete mental performance system. From there, we don’t force a one-size-fits-all routine. Each athlete selects the tools that fit their goals, personality, schedule, and practice environment. A competitor hauling every weekend may use different strategies than one balancing school sports and rodeo, and that’s by design. The power is in learning all the skills, then intentionally building a simple, consistent routine they will actually use—because the best mental program is the one an athlete can stick with in real life and at the gate.
